A welcoming and ambitious secondary school in Dudley is seeking a reliable and enthusiastic Food Technology Technician to join their Design & Technology department on a part-time basis (2 days per week [Mon & Fri]). This role is being recruited with the support of Progress Teachers, a specialist education recruitment agency. This is an excellent opportunity to support high-quality teaching and learning in a busy, practical classroom environment. Key Responsibilities * Prepare, set up and clear away equipment and ingredients for practical food technology lessons * Ensure the food technology classroom and preparation areas are clean, safe and well maintained * Support teachers and students during practical lessons where required * Monitor and manage stock levels, including ordering ingredients and supplies * Ensure health and safety standards are followed, including food hygiene procedures * Carry out regular equipment checks and basic maintenance * Assist with the safe storage and disposal of food items and waste Requirements * Experience working in a school, food preparation, catering or similar practical environment (desirable) * Basic knowledge of food hygiene and health & safety * Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail * Ability to work independently and as part of a team * A calm, professional and flexible approach to work * Willingness to undertake an enhanced DBS check (or have one registered on the update service)
