We are seeking a skilled Database Administrator to manage and maintain our database systems, ensuring high availability and optimal performance. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in database design and administration, with proficiency in various database technologies including MySQL, Oracle, and Microsoft SQL Server. Responsibilities
* Administer and maintain database systems to ensure high availability and reliability.
* Design, implement, and optimise database structures to support application requirements.
* Perform regular database backups, recovery procedures, and data integrity checks.
* Monitor database performance and conduct performance tuning to enhance efficiency.
* Develop and manage ETL processes using SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS).
* Write complex SQL queries and PL/SQL scripts for data manipulation and reporting.
* Collaborate with development teams to provide support for database-related issues.
* Implement security measures to safeguard sensitive data within the databases.
* Document database configurations, processes, and procedures for future reference.
* Utilise Linux environments for database management tasks, including shell scripting with Bash.
Requirements
* Proven experience in database administration with a strong understanding of MySQL, Oracle, and Microsoft SQL Server.
* Proficiency in performance tuning techniques to optimise database operations.
* Experience with SSIS for data integration tasks is highly desirable.
* Solid knowledge of database design principles and best practices.
* Familiarity with Linux operating systems and the ability to perform tasks using Bash (Unix shell) scripting.
* Strong analytical skills with the ability to troubleshoot complex issues effectively.
* Excellent communication skills to collaborate with cross-functional teams.
