1. £20.98 per hour
2. Monday - Friday
3. 37 hours a week
4. Location: Mossley Mill
5. 2 positions available
6. Temporary role until March 2026

Duties will include:
8. Enforce all statutory provisions which fall within the remit of the Environmental Health Section
9. Supporting the Environmental Health Manager to achieve set objectives
10. Identifying information needs within the businesses and residential community relating to Environmental Health matters
11. Devising, planning and participating in training and information campaigns to promote awareness of legislative requirements and health issues.
12. Demonstrate a team approach to achieving the objectives
13. Provide a high level of internal and external customer service including taking ownership of customer queries and complaints and following issues through to completion.
14. Continuously develop personal knowledge and skills to enhance internal and external customer service
15. Comply with Council’s policies and procedures including those relating to health, safety, wellbeing and safeguarding.
16. Promote equality and diversity across all service areas through clear leadership
17. Effective policy implementation and demonstrating appropriate behaviours in line with Council values
18. Enforcing all statutory provisions which fall within the remit of the Environmental Health
Criteria:
19. Level 6 qualification or master’s degree in Environmental Health, which entitles you to membership of the Chartered Institute of Environmental Health
20. A minimum of 6 months’ relevant experience in Environmental Health
21. Skilled and persuasive communicator
22. Ability to exchange information orally and in writing, complicated or sensitive information with a wide range of audiences
23. Ability to achieve targets
24. Competent in the use of IT systems including Microsoft Office applications
25. Analytical and Judgemental skills required to interpret complex information and solve difficult problems
26. Knowledge and understanding of current Environmental Health legislation
27. Knowledge of the issues facing Local Government in Northern Ireland and the public’s expectations of regulatory services
28. Full current driving licence or if disability prevents driving, access to a suitable form of transport
29. To be available from time to time to carry out duties outside of normal working pattern and in addition to
basic contracted hours. Such additional hours will be remunerated in line with Council’s approved policies at that time.
30. Please note due to the duties of the post requiring enforcement of legislation, a satisfactory Basic Disclosure Check will be required through Access NI
