Job Summary
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Support Worker to provide high-quality care to individuals in various settings, including assisted living facilities, nursing homes, and private homes. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in patient care and have experience with senior care, Alzheimer's care, and dementia care. This role requires a commitment to enhancing the quality of life for our clients through personal support and assistance with daily activities.
Responsibilities
* Provide personal care and support to clients, including assistance with bathing, dressing, and grooming.
* Assist with meal preparation and ensure proper nutrition for clients.
* Administer medication as prescribed and monitor clients for any changes in condition.
* Engage clients in meaningful activities to promote mental and emotional well-being.
* Support clients with mobility needs, including heavy lifting when necessary.
* Maintain a safe and clean environment for clients by performing light housekeeping tasks.
* Document client progress and report any concerns to the supervising nurse or care manager.
* Provide companionship and emotional support to enhance the client's quality of life.
* Implement behaviour management strategies as needed to support clients with specific challenges.
Requirements
* Previous experience in assisted living, nursing homes, or home care settings is highly desirable.
* Knowledge of Alzheimer's care, dementia care, hospice care, and senior care practices is essential.
* Certification in first aid is an advantage; training may be provided for suitable candidates.
* Valid driving licence is preferred for transportation of clients as required.
* Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build rapport with clients and their families.
* Ability to perform heavy lifting and assist clients with mobility challenges.
* Compassionate nature with a genuine desire to help others improve their quality of life.

Pay: £12.21-£13.00 per hour
