Job Description To provide and supervise employee development and training for social work and social care employees of Health and Social Care Moray and contribute to the wider organisational development work. Responsibilities Training requirements and planning. Delivery of training programme. Liaison with external parties. Advice and support. Demonstrate leadership and manage the social work and social care training team, employees and resources in accordance with Moray Management Methods. The Individual Experience in either managing a training role, social work or social care role. Experience of successfully managing others and managing performance to achieve desired outcomes. Preparing large scale workforce development, training or change plans and monitoring delivery. Experience of effectively prioritising work and allocation of resources. Accustomed to dealing with large numbers of varied employee groups. Experience of: Policy development and implementation; and Advising managers and policy makers. Relevant Degree (or equivalent). Relevant professional qualification. Sound knowledge of current good practice within relevant professional environment. Ability to work using initiative and common sense and to take balanced decisions when necessary. Strong communication skills with the ability to engage and influence others and create sound relationships. Ability to draw together requirements and prepare into plan and monitor delivery. Skills to motivate others to deliver results and commitment to development of self and others. Ability to give sound practical advice and creative solutions relevant to service needs. Ability to assimilate large amounts of information and give constructive advice under pressure. Create and innovative approach but with the pragmatism to secure a practical implementation. To travel efficiently and effectively between various work locations within Moray to meet the operational requirements of the Service. Due to the rural nature of Moray this is normally undertaken by use of a car. A forward-looking approach to the service with the ability to follow ideas through. Experience of improving standards, performance and service delivery and setting and managing clear objectives Ability to promote the link between learning and development and organisational success. Ability to transfer the principles of learning and development into professional contexts within the social work, social care and wider local government environment to achieve prescribed standards and outcomes. Credibility with a range of audiences. Ability to relate well to a wide variety of people at all levels of the organisation. Ability to give advice, guidance and support to employees, managers and colleagues on a personal and professional level often in difficult circumstances. “Can do” attitude and ability to motivate others. This post is considered to be a ‘Regulated Role’ under the Disclosure (Scotland) Act 2020. Under the Act it is a legal requirement for an individual undertaking a regulated role with children or protected adults to be a member of the Protecting Vulnerable Groups (PVG) scheme. Therefore the successful candidate will be required to join the PVG Scheme or undergo a PVG Scheme Update check prior to any formal offer of employment being made by Moray Council.
