About the business unit
We help conceive, drive, and implement transport solutions for cities, regions, and asset owners/operators around the globe. From preparing the business case and advising on related issues - such as revenue, procurement, and environmental legislation - to delivering the completed infrastructure and helping maintain it. Our planning, engineering, environmental and management skills cover the whole project cycle. We play a major role in developing and delivering the Global Transport Sector Strategy.

OurspecialistGateway Infrastructureteamis based in London, UK, and delivers majortransportplanning and development projectsglobally, working collaboratively with our regional offices.

We are seekingaTechnical Directorwho is a specialist inLandside Airport Planning(Development Planning).The successful candidate will berecognised in the industry as atechnical expert in their specialist field.

The candidate willbe part of aglobally respected and diverse teamof airport planners,airfield engineers andforecast,capacityand business analysts.

Keyresponsibilities include:

TechnicalExcellence

* Leaddevelopmentplanning workstreamsonmajor airport development,portand coastal developmentprogrammes, for owners and operators.
* Support scheme development and consenting approvals for port (air and water) related schemes
* Be recognisedby our clients and within the aviation industry as atechnical specialistwithworld-classlandside planningexpertise.
* Train others in this specialist field, nurturing junior members of the team and helpingsupportthem to develop theirlandside planningcapabilities.
* Developourplanningexpertiseacross allport(air andwater)landside facilities include those forsurface transport, airport cities, cargo andlogistics, ancillary and support facilities, andportadjacent land uses.
* Optimiselandside planningat ports(Air and water)for land-use and operational efficiency.
* Understand surface accessnumericalcapacity analysis andsimulation modelling to be able to work closely and collaboratively with transport planners and modellers who specialise in this work.
Business Development

* Seekandpursue new business opportunities to growourairportlandsideplanning services.
* Buildandmaintainrobustrelationships withnewand existingairport operatorclients, influencing keydirectorsto become their preferred consultant.
* Plan andpositioning for upcoming opportunities and prospects,converting them into projects,producinghigh-qualityproposals that are both technically and commercially sound.
Project Delivery:

* Technicalleadershipoflandside planning workstreamsofmajor airportmasterplanand development projects.
* Communicateeffectively with client organisations and key stakeholders, to give them confidence in thelandside planningprinciplesof their development programmes.
* Perform the role ofTechnicalDirector/Principal, accountable forachievingsuccessfulprojectoutcomes,coachingand mentoringProject Managers.
* AsTechnicalDirector/Principalbeaccountable for the successful completion of all projects under your oversight.
Candidate specification:

Essential experience:

* Extensive experience inportlandside planning, includingwork on large scale development programmes(development planning of major infrastructure).
* Experience to include landside transportfacilities, port operations, land-use planning,cargo andlogistics, airport cities, and port support facilities.

* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, which allow you to confidently liaise with clients and cross-functional teams.
UK Immigration
