About the Role:
The Applications Scientist will play a key role in supporting research and development efforts, focusing on the expansion of existing coating chemistries and advancing projects in emerging applications. This position will work closely with the R&D team to drive new product development, technical evaluation, and market‑focused innovations.
Responsibilities:
* Conduct practical lab‑based work in support of ongoing and new R&D projects.
* Test and analyse a range of substrates and materials used in membrane purification and separation technologies.
* Contribute to the development of surface treatment methods and evaluate results for product enhancement.
* Conduct literature and market research to support R&D programs and track emerging trends.
* Prepare and review technical documentation, including SOPs, process development reports, and tech transfer documents.
* Plan and execute project timelines, collaborating with internal and external teams on membrane technologies.
* Operate laboratory equipment and train team members on new processes as required.
Qualifications & Experience:
* Advanced degree in chemistry (Master's or PhD), or at least 2 years of industry experience.
* Experience in polymeric membrane development and membrane separation processes.
* Hands‑on experience in organic chemistry, synthesis, coating development, or formulation.
* Strong problem‑solving ability with a solid understanding of chemical characterisation techniques.
* Experience in a fast‑paced, early‑stage startup environment is advantageous.
* Ability to manage independent work streams and collaborate effectively in a team setting.
* Excellent organisational and communication skills (both written and verbal).
