As an asbestos auditor, you will be responsible for following and maintaining internal audit schedules and QA/QC processes for both surveying and removal asbestos operations. You will conduct both on-site and desktop auditing, quality assurance and quality control, to ensure the highest standards of service delivery. You will also monitor and audit the requirements relating to the Company's Asbestos UKAS accreditation and asbestos removal licence, for ongoing operation. This will involve checking the health, safety, environmental and quality performance of the site work, site records and asbestos reports, reporting any sub-standard work, implementing the company policies, assisting in continuous improvement and ensuring compliance with CAR and other regulatory asbestos requirements.
Main duties
As part of your role, you will support the business and the Statutory Compliance Manager in ensuring that the Company and statutory requirements are met. You will provide timely support and information to the Statutory Compliance Manager and escalate any issues that affect the operational performance and compliance of the business. You will also deputise for the Statutory Compliance Manager when needed. You will undertake site audits and technical reviews of asbestos survey reports and removal plans of work, ensuring the highest quality and compliance standards. You will work closely with the removal Contract Management team and assist the Statutory Compliance Manager in the contract review and record keeping of asbestos projects and documents. You will also provide updates and reports to the Statutory Compliance Manager and take part in operational meetings and industry events. You will coach and develop operational staff, communicate and consult with the workforce, and support the training needs of all staff.
What we are looking for
1. An excellent understanding of current asbestos Legislation along with Statutory Regulations and Health, Safety, Quality and Environmental Management standards.
2. Hold a BOHS P Asbestos Surveying and Sampling qualification and/or P Asbestos Management Qualification.
3. Preferable to hold a valid Asbestos Removal Managers training certificate.
4. Hold or progressing to Institution of Occupational Safety and Heath (IOSH) - Managing Safely Certificate
5. Attended training in site inspection and auditing of surveying and removal works.
6. Hold a full UK driving licence and passport
7. Good working knowledge of MES management manuals / systems and implementation of all relevant procedures and policies.
8. Good communication skills, both written and verbal at all levels. Able to establish, maintain and develop effective professional working relationships with clients, staff and other key stakeholders.
