Centre Support Manager Salary - £30,025 - £33,699 (Grade 5) Hours - 37 Contract type - full time About Us: Join the City of Wolverhampton Council's WV Active team! Role Overview: The Centre Support Manager is responsible for operational delivery of high-quality services within the centres including facilities management and ensure Health & Safety guidelines and adhered to as defined by business needs. In this role, you will be supporting the Operations Manager and General Manager in service delivery and facilities in all centres, including, customer service, cleanliness, staffing, health & safety and brand standards ensuring that Key Service Performance Indicators are met. Key Responsibilities: To be responsible for the operation of the centre, to be accountable for all monies received and to ensure all financial and administrative procedures are carried out correctly. To raise orders and sundry debtors using the council’s finance system as requested by the Operations Manager and General Manager To deal courteously, efficiently and effectively with all customer needs, complaints, accidents, incidents and defects as they arise and fully complete relevant report forms. To communicate daily with the Facilities teams in order to pass on and receive information and ensure that the centre is operating efficiently and effectively. To ensure that the facilities are of an acceptable standard of readiness and cleanliness, are fully operational and available for public use at all times to ensure a high standard of service delivery to customers. To supervise and where required instruct in the safe use of the facilities by customers ensuring compliance with the appropriate procedures and providing advice and assistance in the use of equipment. Undertake point of sales duties as required, including issuing tickets, safe receipt of income, the issuing of equipment and supplying customers with relevant equipment, receipt and correct storage. Ensure that the equipment and plant at the centre is fully operational at all times, identifying, repairing or reporting defects as required. In the event of an emergency incident, to exercise the appropriate control and management, working within the established emergency procedures. To be a key holder and be on standby on a rota basis for emergency call outs at facilities operated by WV Active. Complete daily Duty Manager shifts, leading by example, supervising operational shifts and carrying out any other duties as required commensurate with the posts level of responsibility (including cover at other Centres). Produce rotas for centre staff on a shift basis, keep up to date, monitor attendance and obtain cover for staff when on leave or unable to work, to ensure safe and effective staffing levels for all activity areas at all times. Provide visible leadership to all Centre staff, ensuring they are highly trained and motivated and operate at high levels of both performance and efficiency. Manage and be the single point of contact (SPOC) for the Cleaning and Catering SLA’s held with CWC. Manage and be the single point of contact (SPOC) for the site repairs and maintenance with CWC and external contractors to ensure required actions are managed and completed within appropriate timeframes. Manage WV Active Apprentices and Sports Assistants, ensuring they are supported at all times. with WV Active. Ensure team members are effectively managed and supervised and that all people management procedures are operated within the team (e.g. recruitment, absence reporting, qualification maintenance, appraisals, discipline etc). Maintain security of the premises throughout the opening hours and during locking up procedures. To regularly patrol the facility and the immediate outside vicinity in order to deter vandalism and theft. Essential Qualifications and Experience: RLSS National Pool Lifeguard Qualification First Aid at Work Certificate Level 2 Health & Fitness Certificate Pool Plant Operator Certificate Mandatory Health and Safety training Safeguarding awareness Relevant supervisory experience in a Leisure and/ or Customer Services environment Shift management responsibility Supervising and training of staff in operational procedures Why Join Us?
