About the role
We currently have exciting opportunities with excellent career development potential for experienced Section Engineers to join our UKCS Construction team, working on various high-profile infrastructure projects in Scotland.
Successful candidates will play a key role in managing and constructing the Accelerated Strategic Transmission Investment (ASTI) framework, aimed at supporting the government's GW offshore wind target. This project is based in Aberdeen. Candidates must live within a commutable distance to the site or be willing to relocate to Aberdeen for the project's duration.
Relocating candidates will benefit from a subsistence package covering accommodation, travel, and daily costs, plus an additional relocation uplift.
What you'll be doing
Health Safety & Environmental
* Production of Task Briefing Sheets
* Contribution to Permit to Dig, including workforce briefings
* Conducting safety inspections
* Hazard identification and development of Safe Systems of Work
Engineering Control
* Setting out from primary control sources
* Providing sketches with setting out details
* Maintaining survey equipment and registers
* Interpreting drawings, schedules, and specifications
Quality
* Producing as-built drawings and records
* Maintaining accurate site records
Productivity
* Measuring and reconciling materials used
* Working to weekly programmes and tracking progress
Commercial
* Producing resource diaries and requisitions
* Understanding additional work classification and recording
Who we're looking for
The following qualities/experience are essential:
* Clear communication of safe work requirements
* Ownership of tasks and communication of outcomes
* Strong work ethic and flexibility for unsociable hours
* Initiative and responsibility
* Valid driving license and CSCS Card
* Good team player with strong communication skills
Additional essential skills include understanding Permit to Dig systems, reading drawings, setting out techniques, and knowledge of construction tolerances and contract documents. Desirable skills include experience in earthworks, drainage, pavement, structures, or roadworks, and leadership development.
