Royal London is hiring a Senior Accessibility Specialist to join ourgrowingDesign Team. This isan exciting opportunity for an experiencedaccessibility specialist whopassionate aboutremoving barriers by proactivelyshapinginclusive digital experienceswith the wider team.
In this hands-on role, youwill bealignedto several agile teams and actastheiraccessibilityspecialist, ensuring theiroutputsareaccessible. You will beinfluencingtheir approach to inclusive design and developmentandwilltake theleadonaccessibility testingdigital artefacts. This may cover acombination ofwebsitesand application, native mobile apps,PDFsandotherdigital artefacts. Collaborating closely with designers and developers, you’ll confirm that designs are accessible before implementation, and provide expertise throughout the product lifecycle. Using both manual and automated evaluation methods, you’ll identify accessibility issuesas early as possiblein the lifecycle,and deliver clear, actionable guidance to development teams. Your input will directly shape products that support our customers and create meaningful impact for users with impairments.
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in accessibility, and a passion for delivering exceptional customer experiences. You will have excellent communication skills, with the ability to work with predominately technical teams.
About the role
Lead manual and automated accessibility audits across websites, native apps, and other digital artefacts.
Evaluate digital products against WCAG 2.2 AA.
Collaborate with design team colleagues to embed accessibility into design artefacts.
Partner with developers to resolve accessibility issues and optimise code.
Use assistive technologies like NVDA, VoiceOver, TalkBack, ZoomText and Dragon.
Deliver clear, actionable reports and guidance to technical teams.
Champion accessibility awareness through events like GAAD and internal workshops.
About you
Clear communicator, you are able to explain accessibility principles, issues, and solutions to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Proven expertise in conducting accessibility audits, generating detailed reports, and delivering actionable recommendations.
Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify common accessibility barriers and advise on best-practice solutions.
Hands-on experience with assistive technologies including NVDA, TalkBack, VoiceOver, ZoomText and Dragon.
