Overview
Mechanical Maintenance Engineer role at Wienerberger, based at our Waresley site in Kidderminster. The role involves being part of the in-house team to keep equipment running smoothly, with a hands-on, problem-solving, maintenance-focused remit.
From troubleshooting to planned preventive maintenance (PPM), you will work with specialist machinery to support the efficiency and reliability of production processes. You will have a varied role encompassing maintenance skills across fitting, fabrication, welding, and service engineering.
Responsibilities
* Carrying out essential maintenance
* Attend breakdowns
* Install/maintain plant machinery
* Improve factory overall equipment effectiveness (OEE)
* Promote Lean thinking
* Use various types of testing equipment to locate and fix faults
* Contribute to safe systems of work (SSOW) documentation
* Adhere to Wienerberger quality system & standards in accordance with BSEN ISO 9001
We provide full training and Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) to support safe and effective work.
Hours of Work
4 days on, 4 days off shift pattern. Shifts 1 and 2 (6am to 6pm), Shift 3 (7am to 7pm), Shift 4 (6pm to 6am).
About You
* Flexible as business needs require
* Mechanically biased engineer with experience in manufacturing/factory environments
* Minimum level 3 qualification in an Engineering discipline
* Strong commitment to safety and health & safety best practice
* Hands-on, adaptable to changing daily priorities to keep the factory running efficiently
* Physically capable to perform duties
* Strong team playing skills
* Good communication (written and verbal)
* Knowledge of environment, health, and safety (EHS) processes
* Analytical & problem-solving skills
* Diagnostics experience of hydraulics, pneumatics, and drive chain fault finding
* Bearing fitting / alignment experience
* Electrical control systems experience
* Knowledge of cutting & grinding regulations
* Arc & Mig welding / basic fabrication
Desirable
* Hands-on apprentice training programme
* HNC or HND qualification (or equivalent)
* Experience in heavy industry manufacturing
