As part of our dedicated SEND team, you will play a vital role in supporting students with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND), helping them to engage with learning, develop key skills, and participate fully in school life. Working closely with teachers, pastoral staff, and families, you will contribute to ensuring that every student receives the support they need to thrive academically, socially, and emotionally. The Role Key responsibilities will include: Providing tailored support to students with a range of learning, communication, social, emotional, and physical needs. Supporting students within lessons, small groups, and on a one-to-one basis. Helping to implement individual support plans and learning strategies. Encouraging student independence, confidence, and self-esteem. Monitoring progress and providing feedback to teaching staff. Assisting with the delivery of targeted interventions to improve literacy, numeracy, and learning outcomes. Promoting positive behaviour and supporting students to develop effective social and emotional skills. Contributing to an inclusive learning environment where all students feel valued and supported. The Successful Person Will Have: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. The ability to adapt approaches and interactions to meet individual student needs. Strong observational skills and the ability to record and communicate pupil progress effectively. Good organisational and time-management skills. The ability to work collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team. Confidence in supporting structured activities within group settings. An understanding of behaviour management strategies and the factors that can influence pupil behaviour. The ability to support literacy and numeracy development. GCSE English and Mathematics (or equivalent). Desirable: Level 2 Teaching Assistant qualification or equivalent. Previous experience working with children or young people with SEND.
