Element is seeking a Senior Cyber Engineer to join our growing Cyber Engineering Services team.
The successful candidate will have a strong foundation as a security engineer, responsible for securing complex global environments and designing scalable security solutions. The role emphasizes expertise in application, cloud, and infrastructure domains.
This hybrid position involves designing and implementing secure technical solutions to defend against cyber threats, with a focus on detection engineering within Element's security tooling.
Core Responsibilities
1. Design and implement technical solutions and security tools to address vulnerabilities, mitigate threats, and automate tasks.
2. Plan, implement, and manage the security operations tooling roadmap.
3. Engineer, deploy, monitor, and upgrade cybersecurity infrastructure and technologies.
4. Create and maintain detection rules to identify suspicious activities and threats.
5. Develop and optimize SIEM event correlation rules to filter security events.
6. Support transition of projects into operational services.
7. Develop new security tools for vulnerability mitigation and automation.
8. Maintain up-to-date design documentation and procedures.
9. Conduct security checks and troubleshoot issues.
10. Prepare operational procedures and protocols.
11. Collaborate with the Cyber Defence team to ensure enterprise security practices.
12. Support incident response efforts.
13. Assist in operational and management reporting.
Skills / Qualifications
* Self-motivated with a positive mindset and a belief in 'Security as an enabler.'
* Strong intellectual agility and adaptability across business contexts.
* Expertise in at least one of the following: Platform Protection, Network Architecture, Cloud Security.
* Ability to review and contribute to design, reports, and standards.
* Excellent communication skills, with the ability to explain technical findings to non-technical audiences.
* Knowledge of the latest security principles, techniques, and trends.
* Experience with networking in complex, multi-site, multinational environments.
* Familiarity with security technologies such as NDR, content filtering, FW, IPS, IDS, DDoS mitigation, EDR/MDR, DAST/SAST, IAM, SIEM, and SOAR.
* Experience in cyber defense operations; previous roles as a Network or Server Engineer are advantageous.
* International and multicultural work experience.
* Proactive communication skills across organizational levels.
* Interest or experience in working within a highly federated organization and in infrastructure/support roles.
