Project Manager - Structural Steel Construction Location: Ipswich (Full-Time Site Based) Salary: Up to £65,000 per annum About the Role We are seeking an experienced Project Manager to oversee structural steel installation projects on a major UK infrastructure development. Reporting to the UK Construction Director, you will be responsible for leading projects from planning through to completion, ensuring works are delivered safely, on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. This is a full-time site-based position, and candidates must be able to travel daily to Ipswich or happy to stay in provided accommodation close to site. Key Responsibilities Lead and coordinate structural steel installation projects Manage project programmes, timelines, and site activities Coordinate subcontractors, trades, suppliers, and project teams Work closely with clients, engineers, designers, and workshop teams Manage project documentation including RFIs, schedules, work packages, and change orders Monitor project costs, forecasts, and reporting requirements Lead site meetings and communicate progress to stakeholders Ensure health & safety, environmental, and quality compliance Review drawings, mark-ups, and constructability requirements Resolve technical and site-related issues efficiently Requirements 5 years' experience in project management within structural steel, steel erection, or heavy construction Strong understanding of steel construction methods and structural drawings Experience using Asta Project, Primavera P6, or similar planning software Proficient with Microsoft Office, Trimble Connect, and Bluebeam Strong leadership, communication, and organisational skills Experience with contract administration and financial control Full UK driving licence Valid CSCS and SMSTS certification Desirable Degree or diploma in Construction Management or Civil Engineering NEBOSH or IOSH qualification Experience with BIM, Tekla Structures, crane lifts, and steel logistics planning Benefits Salary up to £65,000 22 days holiday plus bank holidays Workplace pension scheme Westfield Health Scheme Opportunity to work on a major UK infrastructure project
