About the Opportunity:
In order to support the growth of the Nuclear Assurance, Technology and Regulation business, we are seeking a skilled and experienced Nuclear Engineer to be based in our Bristol MoD Project Office.
As a Nuclear Engineer, you will work within an established yet growing team operating within the Consultancy & Defence Integrator Solutions Business, supporting the Ministry of Defence in the Nuclear Submarine Programme.
Role Responsibilities:
* To provide authoritative advice to MoD in support of their internal governance processes
* To act as a Subject Matter Expert in relevant technical areas, providing technical advice to MoD
* Representing the team in internal and external project and technical meetings
* Identifying commercial opportunities and ensuring that appropriate follow-up actions are taken
Requirements include experience within naval nuclear propulsion programme and detailed knowledge of naval reactor plant or the UK Submarine Enterprise, a relevant science or engineering degree, and professional qualifications such as Chartered status and Project Management certification. Flexibility to travel, knowledge of Safety Case construct, UK Regulatory systems, and stakeholder liaison skills are also required.
This role is suitable for a confident and ambitious engineer, whether several years into their career or a seasoned veteran. Flexibility is key, with opportunities to apply skills in various submarine-related applications.
The role offers autonomy and the chance to act as an ambassador for the company, with opportunities to develop your profile and career in the defence sector.
This position requires UK security clearance; applicants should be UK nationals or able to obtain clearance.
