Thermoseal Group is seeking Manufacturing Technician (Extrusion) Apprentices to join our fast‑paced production team. This hands‑on role offers the opportunity to learn machinery operation, production processes, and quality control in a high‑volume manufacturing environment.
Responsibilities:
* Operate production equipment and monitor processes to meet quality and output targets.
* Perform quality checks and record batch output in line with Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
* Assist with basic maintenance and report faults or issues to the team leader.
* Manage packaging, stock control, and warehouse operations.
* Adhere to health and safety policies, ensuring a clean and safe work environment.
* Mentor new team members and work closely with the production team.
This role provides hands‑on experience, training, and career development opportunities in a fast‑paced manufacturing environment.
The Package
* Pay: Starting hourly rate of £10.00 per hour, with regular pay reviews and pay increases as experience increases.
* Bonus: 5.5% bonus of basic salary paid in two instalments during the year in June & December.
* Working Hours: 37.5 hours per week.
* Shift Pattern: Rotating shifts (6:00 AM – 2:00 PM & 2:00 PM – 10:00 PM), Monday to Friday.
* 25 days Annual Leave, plus bank holidays.

What is Extrusion?
Extrusion is a manufacturing process where material is pushed through a shaped opening (called a die) to create long products with the same cross‑section. Materials such as plastic, metal, rubber, or even food are forced through a die to create consistent shapes. This process is used to make everyday items such as plastic pipes, window frames, tubing, cable insulation, and even pasta.

Reliable and punctual, you’re comfortable with structured shifts and routines, and can stay focused even when tasks are repetitive or high‑volume.

You’re able to handle pressure without compromising standards and are motivated by developing real, technical skills over time rather than purely academic learning.
