Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and proactive Maintenance Person to join our team at Sutton Rose Care Home offering exceptional care in a modern, safe, and welcoming environment. The ideal candidate will possess strong mechanical knowledge and the ability to maintain and repair various systems within our facility. This role requires a proactive approach to problem-solving, excellent customer service skills, and the capability to work independently as well as part of a team. The Maintenance Person will be responsible for ensuring that all equipment operates efficiently and safely.
Key Responsibilities
* Perform routine inspections and maintenance of the care home, including fire panels, emergency lighting, and water temperatures.
* Carry out general repairs, painting, and minor plumbing/electrical tasks.
* Maintain outdoor areas including pathways, signage, and garden features.
* Ensure all maintenance tasks are completed to a high standard and in a timely manner.
* Assisting with decorating and refurbishing projects as needed.
* Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities and report any issues to the management team.
* Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and support audits.
* Respond promptly to maintenance requests from staff and residents.
* Liaise with external contractors when required.
* Build positive relationships with residents and staff, providing a friendly and supportive presence.
Requirements
* Proven experience in building maintenance or a similar role.
* Basic knowledge of plumbing, electrics, and general repairs.
* Understanding of health and safety standards in care environments.
* DBS clearance (or willingness to obtain).
* Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
* Good communication and interpersonal skills.
* Flexibility to respond to emergency maintenance requests outside of regular working hours.
* A commitment to maintaining a safe and comfortable environment for residents.
* Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
