This is a role for someone who doesn’t just manage — they improve.
We’re working with a well-established, fast-moving business looking for a Transport & Fleet Manager to take ownership of a busy operation delivering time-critical goods across multiple locations.
If you’re ambitious, commercially minded and want a role where you can genuinely shape how things are done — this is it.
The Role
You’ll be responsible for the day-to-day and strategic running of a high-volume fleet operation, ensuring everything runs safely, compliantly and efficiently — while consistently hitting delivery expectations.
You’ll play a key role in:
Leading and developing a team of drivers and transport staff
Coordinating vehicle movements, schedules and deliveries across sites
Driving performance across service, cost and efficiency
Ensuring full compliance with transport legislation and operator licence requirements
Managing challenges in real time and keeping operations moving
Hours are 8am – 5pm, Monday to Friday, however this is a senior, accountable position — you’ll be expected to take ownership and step in when issues arise outside of core hours.
What We’re Looking For
This role will suit someone who wants more than just a steady job — someone who wants to build, improve and progress.
You must have:
Valid CPC (essential) and willingness to refresh every 3 years
Experience managing a busy fleet within a fast-paced environment
Strong understanding of UK transport legislation and compliance requirements
Experience overseeing drivers, vehicle compliance and operational performance
A proactive mindset — someone who looks for solutions, not problems
You’ll stand out if you:
Take real ownership and accountability
Thrive in a pressured, time-sensitive environment
Are motivated by improving systems, people and performance
Why This Role?
Opportunity to make a visible impact on operations
A business that values people who take initiative
Scope to develop and grow the role over time
Long-term career potential within a stable and expanding organisation
