Overview
Our Property Legal Team is growing! We're seeking a Property Solicitor/FILEx (or experienced Paralegal) to join our established in-house legal team on a full-time, temporary basis (Maternity Cover). You'll work closely with our Senior Property Lawyer, delivering an internal customer-focused service, supporting the effective management of Midland Heart's property portfolio.
Responsibilities
* Responding to title queries and helpline requests, advising on ownership, tenure, boundaries, covenants, easements, third-party rights and leasehold issues
* Assisting with commercial lease work, including renewals, variations, licences and lease terminations
* Drafting and advising on property transactions such as disposals, land transfers, wayleaves, easements and consents
* Completing post-disposal property work, including deeds of covenant and certificates of compliance
* Supporting enfranchisement and lease extensions, staircasing transactions and adverse possession claims
Qualifications
* You'll be a qualified solicitor (or FILEx) with relevant experience of working in property, real estate or non-contentious matters.
* You'll hold a 2:1 Law Degree or above, and practical experience in a legal role; OR you'll be LPC-qualified (or equivalent, i.e. SQE-qualified).
* You'll have excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to draft clear correspondence and legal documentation and confidently advise internal stakeholders on property-related issues.
* You'll be highly organised, with the ability to manage and prioritise a varied caseload, deal with competing deadlines and approach complex property issues in a logical and practical manner.
* Previous experience or knowledge of property law, including freehold and leasehold matters, commercial leases or property transactions, is desirable.
