About the firm
We are working to support the continued growth of our client's digital, tech and data team, which represents an impressive range of FTSE 100 and FTSE 250 clients, public sector organisations, educational institutions and industry bodies. As part of this UK Top 50 law firm, the team works collaboratively with their clients on high-profile, business-critical projects and regulatory matters, and are proud of their ability to deliver specialist advice across the digital landscape. The team advises on complex and high-profile technology transactions, digital transformation projects, data protection, cyber security, and the use of emerging technologies such as generative AI.
About the role
The team collaborates with developers and suppliers of innovative products and services, working closely with the commercial and national sector teams. They assist businesses in adopting and implementing digital technologies to enhance productivity and competitiveness across sectors like manufacturing, energy, transport, logistics, and international trade.
You will be involved in all aspects of transactions and projects, including advising on contract strategy, data protection, regulatory matters, and risk management. Every day offers new learning opportunities, and you'll be part of a diverse, collaborative team that values support and creativity.
You will help expand the workstream on multi-jurisdictional projects, with opportunities to assist UK businesses in entering new markets, especially in the USA and Saudi Arabia. There may also be options for international secondments.
What we’re looking for
Our client seeks a lawyer with at least 7 years’ post-qualification experience in the UK, specializing in digital, technology, and/or data protection, gained at a City or large regional firm, or in-house. You should be highly experienced and seeking a new challenge to advance your career. Demonstrable expertise in a commercial environment, particularly in digital/tech and data protection, with experience in complex transactions like digital transformation, software licensing, IT services, data protection, cybersecurity, and emerging technologies like generative AI, is essential. Strong contract analysis, drafting, communication skills, and a passion for the practice area, along with a commitment to excellent client service, are required.
Benefits include 25 days annual leave plus bank holidays, holiday buy & sell, family leave policies, pension, private medical, dental, eye care, wellbeing initiatives, recognition awards, savings schemes, and more.
