ROLE SUMMARY:
The General Manager ensures the smooth, efficient, and commercially focused running of Wildcare Limited. This role leads day to day operations across sales, purchasing, marketing, and operational teams, ensuring excellent service, strong financial performance, and a culture of continuous improvement.
A major focus is driving company growth through streamlined processes, effective cross team collaboration, and a proactive approach to market opportunities.

ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES:
* Lead day‑to‑day operations across sales, purchasing, marketing, warehousing, and customer service to ensure efficient workflow, stock management, and reliable fulfilment for ecologists, conservation teams, and large construction clients.
* Monitor performance metrics and drive continuous improvements in productivity, service quality, and operational processes, ensuring Wildcare remains a trusted supplier in the ecology and environmental compliance sector.
* Ensure full compliance with health & safety, environmental, and industry standards relevant to ecological products, site‑based work, and construction‑linked supply chains.
* Work with the Sales Manager to deliver revenue growth, strengthen key accounts, and support long‑term partnerships with ecological consultancies, contractors, and major infrastructure firms.
* Oversee marketing through the Marketing Manager, ensuring campaigns, digital activity, and product communications effectively target ecologists, environmental professionals, and construction procurement teams.
* Provide direction on purchasing activities to maintain reliable supply, cost control, and strong supplier relationships, ensuring product availability for time‑critical ecological and construction projects.
* Lead, coach, and develop team managers, fostering a positive, values‑led culture and supporting recruitment, onboarding, and performance management.
* Identify and implement process improvements that streamline operations, enhance customer experience, and support Wildcare's growth in the ecology and construction markets.
* Contribute to business planning, budgeting, and key projects such as system upgrades, product development, and operational changes.
* Use data and insight to inform decision‑making and drive sustainable commercial performance.
* Maintain strong relationships with key customers, suppliers, and partners, ensuring a consistently high standard of service across all touchpoints.
* Represent Wildcare Limited professionally in external meetings, industry events, and with major clients such as national construction firms and ecological consultancies.
SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS:
* Proven experience in a general management, operations, or senior leadership role within a fast-paced environment.
* Strong understanding of sales, marketing, purchasing, and operational processes.
* Demonstrated ability to lead and develop teams, including specialist managers.
* Experience driving business growth and delivering process improvements.
* Commercially astute with strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
* Excellent communication, organisation, and stakeholder management abilities.
* Comfortable working hands-on while also contributing strategically.
