A software development manager is responsible for the direct line management of software team leaders and the effective management and success of the software development teams that report to those team leaders. The key activities include coordinating, prioritising, and planning SynergyTrak features with the teams, QA, and BA managers, and reporting progress and status of those items and releases to the Director of Solutions. The IT manager helps provide the teams with relevant tools, a positive and constructive working environment, personal support, guidance, and recognition for accomplishments.
Responsibilities include:
1. Planning and coordinating software releases with other managers and roadmap owners, based on feature estimates from the teams.
2. Providing developers with equipment, tools, and a safe, positive working environment.
3. Offering emotional support to team leaders and developers when required.
4. Resolving conflicts between developers.
5. Providing technical guidance and alternative perspectives for decision-making when necessary.
6. Updating senior management on the progression and status of features and releases.
Qualifications and experience:
* Bachelor's Degree.
* At least 3 years managing a team of developers.
* Proven experience working constructively with stakeholders and development teams.
* Positive demeanor.
* Experience managing complex projects with multiple components.
* Track record of meeting deadlines.
* Excellent communication skills.
* Experience in conflict resolution.
* Experience conducting performance reviews and managing career development.
* Experience working with external stakeholders.
