Full-time, 40 hours per week, £14.26 per hour + £50 per sleep-in payment

Job Purpose:
To support the effective delivery of education, care, and independence programmes for learners and young people by supervising Support Workers, ensuring compliance with statutory regulations and quality standards.

* Providing a quality service to young people
* Ensuring financial sustainability appropriate to the role
Responsibilities:
* Supervise the implementation of individual programmes, supporting teaching, social, and independence activities to enhance learning and development.
* Manage the well-being and behaviour of children and young people, including handling sensitive pastoral situations, and referring significant issues to senior staff.
* Support colleagues in maintaining professional relationships with students, parents, and outside agencies, referring issues as needed.
* Act as a positive role model, providing supervision and guidance to team members to support their professional development.
* Contribute to the development of local procedures, ensuring all actions comply with policies and regulatory requirements.
* Adapt and implement proven techniques within the registered home setting.
* Ensure young people receive value for money from services provided.
Knowledge / Education / Skills:
* QCF Level 3 Diploma in relevant care/children & young people-related area or equivalent qualification.
Experience:
* Previous experience supporting the educational and social development of children or young people with special needs.
Leadership:
No direct line management responsibility, but indirect leadership influence in the area of expertise, supporting staff and the delivery of care and education plans.
Budgets & Equipment:
Responsible for the care and security of equipment, handling petty cash, and administering allowances and medication according to policy.
Information:
Shared responsibility for maintaining confidentiality, security, and accuracy of records and data.
Communication & Interaction:
Regular communication involving judgment, explanation, and possibly distressing information. Providing personal support and guidance within educational and care environments.
Safeguarding:
All colleagues must protect vulnerable individuals, be aware of safeguarding procedures, and attend relevant training. The role may involve managing challenging behaviour from young people, requiring emotional and physical resilience.
