The Parking Services team at Sheffield City Council are responsible for enforcing parking regulations throughout Sheffield. These regulations include off street car parks, residents parking schemes, on street pay & display, waiting and loading restrictions. We are a growing service and have achieved a great deal, but we need talented, positive and dedicated people to ensure we continue to make a difference for Sheffield.

Parking services is a team that has been growing each year we now can expand our evening team to meet the service requirements. We have the opportunity to recruit for an additional 6 CEO’s for our evening team.
As Civil Enforcement Officer, you will play a pivotal role in the operational success of our enforcement services, helping us maintain safer streets, reduce congestion, and support the efficient use of public space.
You will also assist with road safety and environmental matters.
Full induction and training will be provided, along with full uniform.
What we need from you
1. You will be a good listener, communicator, able to assimilate information and remain impartial.
2. You will be able to store knowledge with the ability to adapt and react quickly to situations in a professional way.
3. You will have experience of dealing with confrontational situations and providing high level public service with a self- driven nature.
4. You will need to be fit as the work requires patrolling outside on foot in all weather conditions.
5. You will need to have a flexible approach to work and able to cover shift patterns which are currently on a fixed rota pattern and work 5 days out of 7 including weekends. Weekend working attracts a pay enhancement on top of the starting salary.
6. You will need to hold a full driving licence.
7. Excellent working knowledge of relevant legislation, policies, and technologies used in enforcement operations.
8. Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage conflicting priorities under pressure.
9. A confident communicator with excellent interpersonal, negotiation, and decision-making abilities.

The current vacancy is working on our evening team and will be covering 5 days, between Monday and Sunday from 3pm until 11pm. ( Current shifts are under review which could change in the future)
The successful applicant will be a great team player, with excellent communication skills. We need enthusiastic and motivated individuals to ensure day to day delivery is kept to the very highest standards, whilst maintaining excellent customer care.

The post is full time (37 hours)
As the post involves driving, a full driving licence is essential.
The roles include working at weekends and evenings, so the salary advertised will have additional pay enhancements added
Full-time employees work 37 hours for 52 weeks of the year and we offer a generous holiday entitlement. We are open to discussions about a wide range of flexible working opportunities which benefit you and the Council, including reduced hour contracts, working part time or as a job share.
If you are appointed to this role, your starting salary will be at the bottom of the grade. If you provide payslip evidence that your basic pay is greater than the bottom of the grade, we will consider starting you at the point of minimum advantage within the grade.
