Main duties of the job
The role ofthe Access Team Shift Manager is to facilitate the safe operation andmanagement of the Adult Access team during allocated periods of responsibility.The Access Team comprises integrated Crisis & Hospital Liaison (ICHL),Single Point of Access (SPA), Home Treatment (HTT) and Well Together services.The role involves a high level of clinical and management responsibility,requiring sound clinical judgement, the ability to listen & communicateeffectively and the ability to guide and inspire a team of professionals tobest meet the needs of the people using services, particularly when there arecompeting priorities and complex circumstances.
Supportedby the wider management team, the post holder will role-model evidence-based,person-centred and trauma-informed assessment and intervention in accordancewith the services operational policy, national guidance and legislation.Working with and accepting referrals from other services both within andoutside of Navigo.

Job responsibilities
Clinicalpractice and patient care
Ensurepractice of self and team reflects the assessment response times and othermetrics and outcome measures;
Design,deliver and evaluate care plans;
Attend andsometimes lead appropriate appointments and meetings, including MDTs,follow-up and assessment appointments, team meetings, etc.;
To beresponsible for undertaking full mental health triage and assessment of careneeds of patients presenting with complex clinical conditions;

Undertakebasic people management duties, in liaison with and under the direction of theBusiness, People & Performance Manager
Maintain andsupport others to maintain mandatory training, and continuous professionaldevelopment;
Takeultimate responsibility for the shift management of the Access Team and act assite lead for Harrison House when on duty;
To cover the24/7 Access Team rota, and on-call rota;
To provideon-call support to services across the organisation, including advising andsupporting teams to resolve issues that arise;
To superviseand manage the daily workload in such a way to maximise efficiency, ensuringthat duties are discharged safely and effectively. This includes theprocessing, evaluation and allocation of referrals as appropriate to the teamsfunction, and an efficient caseload management system;

Participatein and undertake managerial, live and clinical supervision;

Person Specification
Qualifications
* Current professional qualification in health or social care to degree/diploma level (RMN/RNMH/OT).
* UK professional registration (e.g. provide UK NMC PIN, UK Social Work.
* Registration Number, UK HCPC registration number).
* IT qualification to level 2 or above;
* Supervisory, management or leadership qualification to level 3.
* Maths and English level 3 at C grade or above (grade 4).
* Post qualification award in health/social care at degree or equivalent level.
* Clinical Supervision Training.
* Nurse prescribing.
* Approved Mental Health Professional (AMHP) trained.
* ENB 998 or other NMC approved mentor qualification or mentor. qualification appropriate to discipline.
Knowledge
* Knowledge of the principles of non-medical prescribing and the use of patient group directives/protocols.
* Evidenced knowledge and understanding of trauma-informed, person-centred approaches.
* Knowledge of issues involved in the treatment of mental illness and relapse prevention.
* Can demonstrate experience in audit and research.
Experience
* Five years post-registration mental health work experience.
* Evidenced knowledge of relapse prevention.
* 3 years supervision, management and/or leadership experience in a health or social care environment.
* Experience using patient records system(s).
* 3 years experience using clinical assessment tools.
* 3 years experience formulating and delivering biopsychosocial interventions.
