Role Description This is a full-time Service Engineer role. The Service Engineer will undertake PPM's and Reactive calls to Security & Fire System, including access control, CCTV, door entry, intruder alarms, and fire detection systems.
Daily responsibilities include responding to service calls, diagnosing faults, performing preventative maintenance, and completing system upgrades as required. The role involves visiting customer sites, providing technical support, explaining system functions clearly, and ensuring that all work meets regulatory, quality, and safety standards. The Service Engineer will also document work performed, update service records, and collaborate with the wider engineering and customer support teams.
Qualifications
* Strong troubleshooting skills, with the ability to diagnose and resolve issues across security and fire systems efficiently.
* Field service experience, including on-site installations, commissioning, and visits to customer premises.
* Effective communication skills to interact professionally with clients, colleagues, and stakeholders, both verbally and in writing.
* Technical support capabilities, including guiding customers through system use and providing clear, practical advice.
* Maintenance and repair experience, with a focus on preventative servicing and reliable corrective repairs.
* Previous experience working with access control, CCTV, intruder alarms, or fire detection systems is highly beneficial.
* Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, wiring diagrams, and manufacturer documentation.
* Familiarity with relevant industry standards, health and safety practices, and compliance requirements.
* Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel locally to customer sites as required.
* Relevant technical qualification or apprenticeship in electrical, electronic, or security systems (or equivalent practical experience).
