Job summary
The three acute trusts of Great Western Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust, Royal United Hospitals Bath NHS Foundation Trust, and Salisbury NHS Foundation Trust have combined their procurement and supply chain management teams into one function supporting the Bath, Swindon, and Wiltshire Integrated Care System (ICS). The function operates on a hub and spoke model with Salisbury NHS Foundation Trust as the host. The Deputy Head of Sourcing supports the Head of Sourcing & Contract Management in managing an experienced Sourcing Team, ensuring compliance with public sector policy, NHS legal frameworks, and budget constraints. The role aims to deliver cost savings and efficiency improvements aligned with the cost improvement plans of the BSW organisations.
Main duties of the job
The Deputy Head oversees a dispersed Sourcing Team across three hospital sites, delivering efficiency savings through an annual work plan. The role involves working with divisional leads and financial services to create advantageous commercial arrangements, managing complex procurement projects, and collaborating with NHS Supply Chain and national category towers to meet cost improvement targets. The focus is primarily on non-pay areas, managing projects aligned with each trust’s non-pay cost improvement plans and collaborative initiatives.
