Senior Consultant (Flood Risk & Hydraulic Modelling)

Key Responsibilities: Develop and troubleshoot
hydraulic models
(fluvial and pluvial) using
Flood Modeller Pro and TUFLOW. Undertake
hydrological assessments
and interpret modelling results to inform development feasibility and design. Prepare
Flood Risk Assessments (FRAs)
to support planning applications and conditions discharge. Contribute to projects across sectors including property, renewable energy and aviation. Liaise with the
Environment Agency
on model reviews and technical requirements. Communicate opportunities and constraints to clients, including integration of flood mitigation measures into masterplans. Use
GIS and AutoCAD
to support modelling and reporting outputs. Prepare clear, concise technical reports and present findings to clients and stakeholders. Work with project teams from strategy development through feasibility, outline design, and planning submission.
What We're Looking For: 4+ years' experience
in hydraulic modelling and/or Flood Risk Assessments. Good knowledge of UK
planning policy and guidance
relating to flood risk (e.g. NPPF). Skilled in
Flood Modeller Pro, TUFLOW, GIS and AutoCAD. Understanding of hydrology and rainfallrunoff analysis. Experience liaising with the
EA
and understanding their model review process. Strong communication skills, with the ability to present technical information clearly. Track record in producing FRAs (or strong interest in developing this expertise further). Awareness of project management and commercial delivery.
