To assist with day to day running of the kennels and cattery. Cleaning animals kennels and runs. This is a physical job and applicants must be capable of carrying out manual tasks. Prior animal care experience preferable but not essential. Full training with be given. Flexible working hours are a must as this position is also to cover other staff members holidays. During busy periods, over time will also be available. Applicants must be confident around animals particularly dogs, this is essential. Candidates that make it through the interview stage will be invited to come and have a look around the facility first. The successful candidate will then attend a two week training course at the kennels to learn your role which is pass or fail.
This role involves working 2-3 days a week and will include some weekends. If there is a change to the rota this will be changed with plenty of notice.
Qualities that we are looking for, punctuality, compassionate, positive attitude. Applicants must be adaptable and enthusiastic and achieve a high level of customer service. Fur Cottage is an extremely busy kennels and staff are required to be able to work as part of a team and once trained, competent at working alone. A general understanding of dogs behaviour is preferable but not essential. We are a very caring kennels and cattery and the animals welfare is priority. Staff must have a caring manner and respect all animals on site. Basic knowledge of computers is preferable, applicants will be required to learn the booking in system. A full UK driving licence is essential.
