Are you an experienced Design Manager looking to lead an exciting, large-scale education development in West Wales? This is an outstanding opportunity to join a well-established and highly respected main contractor with a strong presence across Wales and the South West.
The Opportunity
We are seeking a skilled Design Manager to join our Swansea-based team, with the initial project being a significant and technically interesting education scheme in Aberystwyth. This role would particularly suit candidates based in West Wales, including Carmarthenshire, Ceredigion, Pembrokeshire, and surrounding areas.
Hybrid working is fully supported, offering flexibility between site, office, and home.
Key Responsibilities

Managing and coordinating the design process from pre-construction through to project completion
*
Leading design team meetings and driving programme delivery
*
Liaising with clients, consultants, subcontractors, and internal teams
*
Ensuring design compliance with building regulations and project specifications
*
Identifying and mitigating design risks
*
Reviewing technical drawings and ensuring buildability
*
Supporting commercial and operational teams to ensure successful project delivery
About You
To be considered for this Design Manager position, you will ideally have:
*
Proven experience as a Design Manager or Senior Design Coordinator within a main contractor environment
*
Experience delivering education, healthcare, commercial, or public sector projects
*
Strong knowledge of construction processes and UK Building Regulations
*
Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
*
Relevant construction qualification (HNC/HND/Degree)
