For more than 40 years, they've supported communities across Blackpool, Fylde and Wyre, offering care, comfort and guidance at some of life’s most difficult times. They are looking for a thoughtful and dedicated In Memory Officer to join their Fundraising and Communications Team. This is a deeply meaningful role, offering the opportunity to shape how they support people to remember and celebrate those who matter most to them, while helping to generate vital income for their hospice services.
Role focus: Lead the delivery and development of the in memory fundraising programme, creating compassionate and engaging ways for supporters to honour loved ones. Take ownership of key initiatives such as Light up a Life and Memory Meadows, while exploring new opportunities for people to connect, remember and give. Shape bereavement communications to ensure supporters receive thoughtful, timely and sensitive engagement throughout their journey.
Responsibilities
* Lead the delivery and development of the in memory fundraising programme, including key initiatives such as Light up a Life and Memory Meadows.
* Create compassionate, engaging ways for supporters to honour loved ones and connect with the organisation.
* Shape bereavement communications to provide thoughtful, timely, and sensitive engagement.
* Manage multiple projects, using data and insight to inform decisions and improve outcomes.
* Deliver high-quality communications across a range of channels.
* Collaborate with colleagues across fundraising, communications and clinical teams.
* Build relationships within the local community, including funeral directors and supporters.
* Contribute to creating a seamless and supportive experience for bereaved families while growing a sustainable in-memory giving programme.
Qualifications and Skills
* Experience in In Memory fundraising or related roles (e.g., In Memory Fundraising Officer, Legacy and In Memory Officer, Tribute Fundraising Officer, Bereavement Fundraising Officer).
* Strong empathy, emotional intelligence and judgment for working in sensitive situations.
* Ability to manage multiple projects with data-driven and insight-informed approaches.
* Excellent written and verbal communications across multiple channels.
* Collaborative mindset with ability to build internal and external relationships.
