Teaching Personnel are looking to appoint a caring, consistent and trauma-informed KS2 Teaching Assistant to provide 1:1 support for a Year 4 pupil with SEMH needs at a welcoming primary school in the FY4 area of Blackpool.
This is a long-term role starting on 5th May 2026, running until January 2027, offering stability and the chance to build a strong, trusted relationship with the child.
Role Responsibilities
Provide bespoke 1:1 support to a Year 4 child with identified SEMH needs.
Use trauma-informed approaches to help the pupil regulate emotions and manage behaviour.
Support access to learning, social development, and classroom routines.
Work collaboratively with the class teacher, SENCO, and pastoral staff to implement personalised strategies.
Maintain a calm, nurturing, and predictable presence throughout the school day.
The Ideal Candidate
Has experience working with SEMH needs in a primary school setting (KS2 desirable).
Understands and can apply trauma-informed practice and positive behaviour support.
Is patient, empathetic and able to build trusting, safe relationships.
Is resilient, proactive, and confident managing challenging behaviour.
Communicates effectively with staff, parents and external professionals.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
