Location: North Tyneside Contract: Full-Time Start Date: September 2025 Daily Pay: £89–£108 (based on experience) What the role involves Supporting pupils with needs such as autism, ADHD, speech and language difficulties, global developmental delay, and complex learning challenges Working 1:1 or in small groups, helping students stay engaged and supported Using visuals, structured routines, and sensory strategies to aid understanding and emotional regulation Assisting with personal care where needed Feeding back to staff and parents/carers on progress and behaviours Who we’re looking for We’re looking for someone with experience supporting children or young people with SEND—this might be in a school, care, or community setting. You’ll need a calm, positive, and patient approach, along with the ability to build strong, trusting relationships with both pupils and staff. Confidence in using (or a willingness to learn) strategies such as PECS, Makaton, or sensory circuits is important, as is holding an Enhanced DBS registered to the Update Service—or being happy to apply for one.
