About the Role

The Commissioning Engineer role will span across all technical, support, design, and project elements of ISDM and will focus on bridging the gaps between the departments in order to ensure the Technical Operations service team are armed with all of the information they require to enable them to improve on and maintain the service they provide to our clients.

What You'll be Doing

* Responsible for reviewing and understanding to a high-level existing standards and also new technology offerings which are at high percentage chance of ISDM opportunity moving to deployment phase.
* Frequent engagement with the design, solutions and project department will be essential to ensure any new technology is visible and is understood early on.
* This would be a coordination role to assess new and existing hardware on projects, collate configuration “musts” from the solutions team, design team, programming team and manufacturers to ensure knowledge within the Technical Operations service team is provided and available - then create guides for install engineers and Technical Operations service team to implement and support the technology going forward.

The documentation will come in the below forms; -

-Standards database, updated with hardware and software changes as they occur.

-A comprehensive database of Knowledge Base articles for the Technical Operations service team to understand how to support the technology going forward.

-Deployment and test scripts for installs. Examples include but are not limited to EDID settings on Extron DTP matrix switchers, MTR peripheral optimal settings and best practices in the installation of the various hardware technologies ISDM install.

-Quality checklists for standard and bespoke space performance – with a future view to re-write iAuditer commissioning scripts.

* Attendance at kick offs for projects with A) bespoke systems, B) new hardware/solutions, C) any changes to standards, along with attendance to any other kick offs that the role would benefit from attending.
* Be the driving force behind a new process and enthusiasm to push meticulous technical project planning and commissioning scripts within the projects team with a focus on driving quality.
* On-site visits during a % of project installations to assist, develop skills and assess what knowledge should be transferred into the Technical Operations service team.
* On-site visit following a % of project installs to scrutinise commissioning and setup of installations with a focus on driving quality.
* Actively engaging with manufacturers to check for product updates and replacements. This could include attendance to some events, training courses and seminar visits.
* Attendance to project handover with a focus on ensuring projects are being accepted with a high standard, and then ensuring the relevant data is transferred to the Technical Operations service team’s Knowledge Base database.
* Develop new process to identify, discuss, approve and communicate all new or updated hardware and products on ISDM portfolio.

Skills & Capabilities

* Strong technical implementation experience across AV and VC environments.
* Experience creating and maintaining clear technical, procedural, and standards-based documentation.
* Ability to assess risk, diagnose technical issues, and recommend effective remediation and improvements.
* Confident communicator with the ability to influence, present technical concepts clearly, and work effectively with diverse stakeholders.
* Capability to train, support, and upskill engineers and operational teams.
* Commercial and service-aware mindset, with experience contributing to technology, service, or standards improvement initiatives.
* Curious, adaptable, and motivated to learn new technologies, with flexibility to travel when required.
* Highly organised, detail-oriented, and comfortable managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

DESIRABLE SKILLS

* Full, clean driving license ability to drive company vehicles for onsite visits.
* Competent in MS Office.
* An aptitude for both efficient and accurate working with excellent attention to detail.
* The ability to multi-task whilst prioritising workloads.
* Strong communication skills, both written and face to face and the ability to generate strong and lasting customer relationships.
* Excellent analytical and troubleshooting skills for problem resolution.
