Why are we recruiting?
Security and Batch Operations Analysts drive the day to day PayPoint operation and are the key to the delivery of the services we provide to our clients, retailers and consumers across the United Kingdom.
From the Security Operations Centre located in Welwyn Garden City, the on site team of analysts monitor and respond to alerts and events from across our network. The team will undertake the actions necessary to maintain our service availability and security which will include actions for recovery or escalation to the third line support teams.
With services hosted in our data centres and Azure, you will use a range to tools and technologies to provide the operational controls needed to maintain the high levels of service expected by our clients, retailers and consumers.
We now have an opportunity for an enthusiastic individual to join our analysts in what is already a fun and engaging team.
While experience in a similar role is a good thing, we are happy to speak to graduates or those with IT backgrounds such as service desk and desktop engineers looking for a new role or path in their career.
What will you be doing?
* Monitor and manage both IT and Security incidents.
* Work on all phases of the detection, investigation and resolution of cyber security events flagged by the systems in use at PayPoint.
* Work closely with other members of the SOC team to run investigations into the root cause of security events, escalating to the Technical Security, vulnerability and problem-management teams where necessary.
* Support various internal and external SOC-related stakeholders to make sure that PayPoint’s security posture is always being strengthened as we work to continually improve our security configurations, practices and processes.
* Be included in a 24/7 rotating shift pattern. (4 days on, 4 days off)
What would we like from you?
* Passion for the IT sector, with an interest in Cyber Security.
* Strong problem-solving skills.
* Detail orientated with strong written and verbal communication skills.
* Knowledge of Windows Desktop and Server OS’s (Ideally from 2012 to 2019)
* Knowledge of Windows Servers Services including DHCP, DNS, AD.
* Knowledge of Microsoft Office 365
It would be great if you already have…
* Experience of working in a 24/7 rota, specifically in an established IT or Security function.
* Understanding of the PCI-DSS compliance
* Scripting capability, in particular using PowerShell Bash.
* Any experience with the software products such as zScaler, Solarwinds, Crowdstrike, Splunk
* Experience of working with batch automation tools.
* Knowledge of Linux & Azure
* Working Knowledge of SIEM Tools.
* Experience in Event Analysis and Triage, Incident Handling and Root-Cause identification.
