Behaviour Support Mentor Location: Newcastle Working hours: 8am – 4pm (Monday to Friday) Long term, temporary contract Leader Education are proud to be recruiting for a Behaviour Support Mentor to join a committed and highly skilled team within a Pupil Referral Unit (PRU) in Walker, Newcastle. This is a demanding yet deeply rewarding role, working with pupils from Key Stage 1 through to Key Stage 4 who present with significant behavioural challenges and complex needs. Many of the young people you will support have experienced barriers to learning, including exclusion from mainstream education, and may display behaviours that require a calm, consistent, and resilient approach. This role is best suited to a strong, emotionally resilient professional who can remain composed under pressure, confidently manage challenging situations, and build meaningful relationships with pupils who need structure, understanding, and unwavering support. You will play a vital role in helping young people regulate their emotions, rebuild trust, and re-engage with education—making a genuine and lasting difference to their futures.
