Salary: £33,866 per annum
Hours: 35 hours per week, on-site
About the Role
gap personnel are recruiting for an Engineering Technician to join a leading defence and marine engineering organisation in Devonport, Plymouth .
This is a hands-on role supporting the maintenance and regeneration of electrical and mechanical systems onboard Royal Navy vessels undergoing major deep maintenance periods.
You'll be part of a skilled engineering team ensuring equipment and systems are restored to full operational condition, contributing directly to the success of critical naval operations.
Key Responsibilities
Carry out maintenance and repair of electrical and mechanical systems onboard ships.
Conduct inspections and report on equipment condition to ensure operational readiness.
Diagnose and rectify system defects efficiently and accurately.
Support general marine maintenance tasks as required.
Maintain accurate records within the maintenance management system.
Essential Experience & Skills
Qualified Electrical or Mechanical Technician with strong engineering standards.
Physically capable of working onboard vessels and within dockyard environments.
Confident IT skills, including experience updating maintenance systems and defect logs.
Flexible and adaptable with a proactive, can-do attitude.
Strong communication and teamwork skills.
Qualifications
ONC, Level 3 NVQ, BTEC, or equivalent qualification in an engineering discipline.
