Senior Credit Analyst - Commercial Real Estate
Core Responsibilities:
* Develop and improve monitoring infrastructure for Corporate & Institutional Banking (C&IB) exposures, including commercial real estate metrics, to support internal risk forums and committees.
* Manage the end-to-end credit process independently, including:
* Assessing the viability of credit proposals and providing constructive challenge where necessary;
* Participating in client meetings, analyst briefings, and banker presentations in support of the Relationship Manager;
* Ensuring the quality and completeness of credit application submissions.
* Input financial data into relevant credit systems (e.g., Moody’s).
* Prepare credit reviews independently.
* Collaborate with Relationship Managers to draft new credit applications.
* Prepare call reports where required, in line with expectations set by the Head of Corporate and Institutional Banking.
* Liaise and provide feedback to all stakeholders involved in the credit process, including:
* Legal teams;
* External legal counsel (if needed);
* Agents or third-party service providers (if applicable).
* Support the Senior Manager – Credit in monitoring the credit quality of the portfolio and contribute to periodic reporting through platforms such as risk forums and committees.
* Maintain both physical and digital archives of credit applications.
* Ensure the team complies with data quality standards and reporting requirements.
* Provide ad-hoc support to the Head of Corporate and Institutional Banking as required.
Skills & Attributes Required:
* Excellent written and spoken English; additional language skills are a plus
* Strong interpersonal and verbal communication abilities
* A university degree in a relevant discipline (preferred), or professional qualifications such as ACT, MRICS, or CFA
* Solid understanding of commercial real estate (CRE) banking models
* Experience with restructuring/workout situations and knowledge of legal aspects of real estate lending (preferred)
* Proficiency in relevant systems such as Bloomberg, RatingsDirect, Moody’s Risk Analyst, or KMV
* Strong team player with the ability to collaborate effectively across functions
* Self-motivated with strong organizational and prioritization skills
* Detail-oriented and flexible, with a proactive approach to supporting the team and clients
* Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
* Positive “can-do” attitude with a flexible and solution-oriented mindset
