Role Overview
As an Accounts and Audit Assistant Manager, you will work closely with managers and partners to deliver high-quality accounts preparation, tax compliance, and audit services across a diverse client base.
This Accounts and Audit Assistant Manager position offers the chance to step into a leadership pathway, supporting junior team members while managing your own portfolio of clients. The role provides a strong balance of responsibility across accounts work and audit exposure, with approximately 20 percent of your time focused on audit assignments including planning, fieldwork, and file completion.

Key Responsibilities
* Manage a portfolio of clients, acting as a key point of contact
* Prepare and review year‑end accounts for sole traders, partnerships, and limited companies
* Support the preparation of personal and corporate tax returns
* Oversee VAT returns and resolve client queries
* Undertake audit assignments (approximately 20 percent of workload), including testing and completion work
* Supervise and support junior staff, reviewing work and providing feedback
* Support workflow planning and ensure deadlines are consistently met
* Build strong client relationships and provide proactive support
What We're Looking For
* Strong experience within an Accountancy practice
* Background in accounts preparation and tax compliance
* Some audit exposure (or strong willingness to develop in this area)
* Experience reviewing junior staff work or mentoring others
* Strong communication and organisational skills
* Ability to manage multiple deadlines and client priorities
