Hi, I’m Ava from Create Education, and I’m so pleased to be working with a genuinely lovely SEN school in Barking who are looking for a dedicated and compassionate SEN HLTA to join their team.
This is a school supporting pupils with a range of special educational needs, and they are looking for someone who truly cares about helping children grow in confidence, independence and achievement.
You will be working across all year groups, supporting students both one-to-one and in small groups, and playing a key role in helping them reach their full potential.
Job Description:
This is a rewarding and hands-on role where you will work closely with class teachers and support staff to deliver meaningful, tailored support throughout the school.
You will be:
Providing support to students with SEN within the classroom
Assisting in the planning and delivery of personalised learning activities
Leading small group interventions and supporting individual students academically, emotionally and socially
Supporting students with personal care and mobility where required
Helping teachers prepare and organise learning materials
Working collaboratively with staff, parents and external professionals to ensure the best possible outcomes
You will be joining a supportive, inclusive environment where teamwork and communication are genuinely valued.
Person Specification:
Experience working with children with SEN (essential)
Experience leading small group interventions (essential)
A patient, empathetic and nurturing approach
Confidence working across different age groups
Strong communication skills
A willingness to undertake further training and development
This role would suit someone who is confident in their ability to lead learning, but who also leads with warmth, patience and understanding.
