Role: Primary Teaching Assistant
Location: Dawlish
Contract: Full time
Working Hours: Monday - Friday, 08:45 - 15:45, term time only
Salary: Starting at £100 per day (depending on experience and qualifications)
An exciting opportunity has arisen through Long-Term Teachers to support a well-regarded and welcoming special needs provision in Dawlish. We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic individual to provide classroom support across the primary age range. This is an ideal role for someone passionate about helping young learners develop academically, socially and emotionally.
The Role:
You will work closely with teachers to support whole-class learning, as well as deliver small group interventions and one-to-one support when needed. Your role will help ensure that every child is able to access the curriculum and achieve their full potential.
Key Responsibilities:
* Assist in the delivery of engaging and inclusive lessons
* Provide targeted support to pupils individually or in small groups
* Help implement phonic programmes and early literacy strategies
* Foster a nurturing, safe and positive learning environment
* Support the personal, social and emotional development of pupils
* Work collaboratively with teachers and other staff members to meet pupils’ needs
The Ideal Candidate Will Have:
* Previous experience working with children in a primary school setting
* A patient, positive and proactive attitude
* Strong communication skills and the ability to build positive relationships with students and staff
* Flexibility and resilience to adapt to a range of classroom situations
Desirable Experience and Qualifications:
* A Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification
* Working with pre-verbal or non-verbal children
* Supporting phonics development and early reading skills
* Assisting pupils with a range of learning difficulties
