Level 2 Teaching Assistant

We are seeking a committed and compassionate Level 2 SEN Teaching Assistant to join our dedicated team in Burnley. This is an exciting opportunity to support students with a range of additional needs, helping them thrive in a nurturing and inclusive learning environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Support individual pupils and small groups under the guidance of the class teacher and SENCO
Assist with the implementation of individual education plans (IEPs)
Use a range of communication strategies (e.g. Makaton, PECS) to support learning
Foster student's social, emotional, and academic development
Provide feedback to teachers on pupil progress and behaviour
Support in managing behaviour positively and in line with school policy
Assist with personal care needs when necessary
Promote inclusion and independence in all aspects of school life
We are looking for someone who:
Holds a Level 2 Teaching Assistant qualification or equivalent
Has experience working with children or young people with SEN (in a school or similar setting)
Demonstrates patience, empathy, and a positive attitude
Can work well as part of a team and under direction
Is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children
