Job Overview
Be a Mechanical Plant Fitter in Saint‑Gobain’s East Leake manufacturing plant, Leicestershire. You will execute mechanical engineering activities on site, keeping production running to meet delivery commitments.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan and execute root‑cause analysis to prevent recurring maintenance issues.
- Perform autonomous maintenance tasks.
- Liaise with contractors and shift electricians on projects.
- Use the CMMS system (INFOR EAM) to schedule work, submit job reports and order spares.
- Carry out reactive and planned engineering work on equipment such as grinding mills, blow pots, forming and conveying belts, screw conveyors, and other plant machinery.
Qualifications
- Mechanical engineer with production or manufacturing experience.
- Minimum NVQ Level III qualification in a mechanical engineering discipline.
- Apprentice‑trained mechanical engineer.
- Continuous‑improvement mindset.
- Excellent communication and problem‑solving skills.
- Health and safety focus – safety is paramount.
- Proficiency with CMMS systems and Microsoft Office, with the ability to learn other software.
