Operations Manager
40 hours per week
In this role, you will be responsible for effectively managing the day-to-day organisation of operations at the Depot through the allocation and basic routing of vehicles. Your role is to ensure best-in-class service delivery to customers, maintain health & safety standards, and ensure environmental and O licence compliance.
This role is ideal for someone looking to progress or advance their career within a logistics environment. As an Operations Manager, you will oversee all depot responsibilities.
The role includes:
1. Managing operational staff daily to achieve excellent service delivery
2. Managing route efficiency and utilizing disposal outlets effectively to optimize vehicle and facility use
3. Ensuring driver availability and coverage in accordance with legislation and company procedures
4. Performing administrative duties such as inputting pay, bonuses, and disposal information into company systems
5. Proactive vehicle management, including liaising with fleet, ensuring safe vehicle operations, wheel security, and monitoring vehicle weights
6. Supervising vehicle availability daily and ensuring drivers complete checks per company policy
7. Contributing to ongoing cost control by seeking efficiency improvements and reducing operating costs, including analyzing depot reports
Requirements include:
* Experience in a similar role within the services or logistics industry
* Knowledge of current and upcoming environmental, health, and safety legislation
* Good transport and logistics knowledge
* Possession of a CPC qualification
