Roles

These are multiple placement roles available in different UK locations. Read each role carefully before applying as you will be asked to provide a preference in the application process.

1. Role 1 - Chemical Engineering – Montrose
Degree requirements: Chemical Engineering
Overview: Support day-to-day manufacture of APIs, capital projects, sustainability initiatives or cleaning/process improvements. Involves process engineering, plant troubleshooting, HAZOPs, and automation-related activities.
2. Role 2 - Chemical Engineering - Ware
Degree requirements: Chemical Engineering
Overview: Support manufacturing of Oral Solid Dose products and scale-up of R&D assets to ensure robust manufacture and product lifecycle management. Includes troubleshooting, process improvements, and data analysis.
3. Role 3 – Downstream Process Engineering – Worthing
Degree requirements: Chemical or Biochemical Engineering
Overview: Develop and industrialise biotechnology processes with focus on profitability and sustainability; scale-up from discovery/concept to large scale fermentation; work on small molecule, large molecule and vaccine projects.
4. Role 4 - Process Engineering and Analytics – Ware R&D
Degree requirements: Currently studying an MEng in chemical/nuclear/mechanical/medical engineering, fine chemicals, oil & gas or pharmaceutical engineering
Overview: Translate small scale drug product manufacturing processes into commercial scale operations; apply process engineering, modelling and data analysis to development and scale-up.
5. Role 5 - Process Engineering Automation & Modelling – Stevenage
Degree requirements: Undergraduate degree in Chemical/Process Engineering, Electrical/Mechanical engineering, chemistry, physics or computer science
Overview: Implement modelling, automation and data-driven solutions to support drug product development and manufacturing at multiple scales.


Role requirements and eligibility

* Education: Undergraduate degree in relevant engineering field for each role; Meng candidates only for Role 4?
* Other requirements: Minimum 2 years of undergraduate study completed; must be enrolled at a UK or ROI university for the duration of the placement; current graduates are not eligible if pursuing a postgraduate Masters during the placement.
* Language: Written and spoken fluency in English
* Start date: July 2026
* Duration: Approximately 1 year
* Salary: £25,400 plus a bonus
* Workplace: Full-time on site
