About the Role
We’re looking for a talented Risk & Opportunity Manager to join our team based from our in Ampthill, Bedfordshire.
This role benefits from our 4xFlex working pattern, offering a 4-day working week (Monday–Thursday) alongside hybrid working. You’ll work onsite Monday and Tuesday, with Wednesday and Thursday from home, subject to business needs.
As our Risk & Opportunity Manager you will provide support to either a single complex Programme or across a number of Projects within a business area. You will work directly with Project teams in the development & maintenance of Risk & Opportunity registers spanning the full lifecycle.
The Risk and Opportunity register contains the known Cost, Schedule and Technical Risk. The successful applicant will work with the Programme team to develop a quantitative and qualitative analysis of each Risk, mitigation plans to reduce each risk or enhance each Opportunity.
In conjunction with the Master Planner/ Scheduler the Risk & Opportunity Manager will use the approved tool to develop a Monte Carlo analysis of the programme. You will publish the results of the Schedule & Cost Risk Analysis (SRS / CRA) in accordance with contract deliverable requirements.
Duties / Responsibilities:
1. Develop the Risk and Opportunity register, complete with quantitative and qualitative impacts and mitigation plans.
2. Perform ongoing Monte Carlo Schedule & Cost Risk Analysis.
3. Facilitate Risk and Opportunity meetings with Programme teams, including governance of the Risk & Opportunity Management process.
4. Assist in the development of cohesive and logical mitigation plans.
5. Maintain current status of the Risk and Opportunity Register.
6. Production of Project Risk and Opportunity Reporting.
Required skills, qualifications and experience
7. Proven experience in a Risk Management role
8. Excellent working knowledge of and experience in industry standard risk tools, such as ARM, Primavera Risk Analysis (previously Pertmaster) and Predict.
9. Risk planning in MoD or Defence related programmes and be able to understand and work with a technical and skill-diverse team.
10. Analyse schedules for risk and opportunity and clearly communicate to programme manager and leads.
11. Able to communicate with a wide range of people including internal senior management and project team members, subcontractors and suppliers through to high level customer representatives.
12. Proven working in fast-paced environment and be agile and adapt to changing priorities
13. Team player with excellent stakeholder management skills
