We are seeking a highly motivated and commercially astute qualified solicitor to join our firm as a Director. This is a pivotal role for an individual who is not only an excellent lawyer but also a natural business developer. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading and developing a significant portfolio of work, driving revenue growth, and contributing to the firm's strategic direction. This role offers a clear path to equity partnership for the right individual.
Key Responsibilities
1. Legal Practice & Client Management
* Maintain a high-quality legal practice, providing expert advice to a portfolio of clients.
* Handle a complex and sophisticated caseload in your area of expertise.
* Supervise, mentor, and develop junior lawyers and support staff within your team.
* Ensure all work is conducted in compliance with the SRA standards and regulations and the firm's internal procedures.
2. Business Development & Growth
* Develop and execute a robust business development strategy to generate new client relationships and expand work from existing clients.
* Actively network, participate in industry events, and build a strong professional profile in the market.
* Identify and pursue new business opportunities that align with the firm's strategic goals.
* Lead on pitches, proposals, and presentations to secure new mandates.
* Contribute to the firm's marketing and branding initiatives.
3. Strategic & Financial Management
* Take significant responsibility for the financial performance of your practice area, including billing, revenue, and profitability targets.
* Contribute to the firm's overall strategic planning and decision-making.
* Participate in management meetings and play a key role in shaping the firm's future.
Person Specification
Essential Qualifications & Experience:
* Qualified solicitor in England and Wales with a current, unrestricted practising certificate.
* A proven track record of excellence in legal practice within any area of law.
* Demonstrable and significant experience in business development, with a verifiable portfolio of generated clients and revenue.
* Experience in managing client relationships and leading on complex matters.
* Proven ability to manage financials, including budgeting and fee targets.
