We are currently working with a specialist setting that supports pupils who have been referred from mainstream education. This includes Pupil Referral Units (PRUs) and Alternative Provisions (APs), where young people benefit from smaller groups, tailored support, and a more therapeutic approach to learning. We are looking for a reliable and resilient Behaviour Support Assistant to join one of these settings in September. The Role: This is a hands-on, active support role where every day will look a little different. You’ll work closely with pupils who may present with challenging behaviour, low engagement, or social, emotional and mental health (SEMH) needs. Your job is to: * Build positive, trusting relationships * Help keep pupils focused and calm during lessons * Support behaviour management plans * Encourage self-esteem and emotional resilience * Promote consistent routines and a safe learning environment Who We're Looking For: * Experience working with children or young people with additional needs or behavioural challenges * A calm, patient and confident approach * A genuine interest in making a difference to young lives * Ability to remain consistent and firm, yet caring * Enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to apply) Backgrounds That Work Well: Teaching assistants, youth workers, sports coaches, care workers, psychology students/graduates, or anyone with strong behaviour support experience.
