Electrical/Mechanical Technician - North County Antrim
A leading manufacturing facility in North County Antrim is seeking a skilled and motivated Electrical/Mechanical Technician to join its dynamic maintenance team. This role is critical to the delivery of asset care across the site and plays a key role in achieving operational KPIs through high-quality, proactive, and reactive maintenance of equipment.
The successful candidate will be part of a weekday team with standard hours and a pay allowance for occasional early or evening shifts. Callouts outside normal working hours are compensated with overtime pay.
About the role:
1. £33,000 – £45,000 per annum (plus excellent benefits package)
2. Monday to Friday
3. 37 hours a week
4. Permanent role
Purpose of the Role: To ensure the optimal operation and maintenance of all production assets and contribute to the quality of goods produced by supporting engineering and operational teams. The role also supports continuous improvement efforts and promotes best practices in asset management.
Key Responsibilities:
5. Ensure full compliance with all safety, health, environmental, quality, and housekeeping standards.
6. Execute asset care and maintenance using a computer-based system (SAP).
7. Minimise unplanned downtime through effective preventive maintenance routines.
8. Maintain up-to-date technical documentation and records in line with regulatory and internal standards.
9. Collaborate with operations to optimise equipment performance and process efficiency.
10. Provide technical support to peers and operators, including training where required.
11. Identify and implement engineering solutions to enhance production performance.
12. Contribute to knowledge sharing, team development, and ongoing personal training.
Required Qualifications & Experience:
13. Recognised engineering apprenticeship and/or City & Guilds or NVQ Level 3 qualification.
14. Minimum of 3 years' experience in a maintenance manufacturing environment.
15. Experience working with electrical motors and variable speed drives.
16. Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and technical manuals.
17. Familiarity with Health & Safety practices and preventive maintenance systems.
18. Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to work independently and within a team.
19. Competence in Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
